As the book was finalised last week, it was time to focus on the extra elements to the project, for example, the business cards.
Although the business cards are not an essential part of the project, I do believe that it would be good to provide a means to either contact me or to provide links to the blog.
I had hoped to set up a website for this project but due to the time constraints and a lack of a reliable Internet connection, it was best if I excluded it from the project for now.
The aim of the website was to provide information on the “Tattoos to empower” campaign, provide links to charities, and be a source of reliable information about tattooing over scars.
I had also wished to provide a forum where questions could be asked and answered. The site would also provide contact to reliable, reputable tattoo artists who specialise, and scar cover up tattoos.
The site would also have a feature where you could choose tattoo designs and “try them on”. This feature would use mannequins and the design would show up where you select. For example, if you wanted to see a tattoo over a mastectomy scar on a chest, you would be able to do so.
In the future, I would love to work on this idea and hopefully see it come to fruition.
Hence the business cards would provide information so people could keep up to date on the progress of the project.
I began by testing out some designs by hand. I printed out the designs in both rectangular and square formats.
The design was simple and had a flowing floral tattoo with my name in the center. Although I really liked the square cards with the square book. I decided the business cards needed to contain the logo instead, I place the logo onto the rectangular business card format, and I found it worked much better.
Now that the business cards are completed the focus for next week is to send the book to print and to get the posters designed.
