Last week I focused on making mind maps for each participant. This was done using their responses to the questions asked in the questionnaire. In doing this I was able to move to the next phase of creating mood boards for each participant.
Moodboards are an essential asset in designing anything. A mood board consists of imagery, color stories, keywords, and objects. This is then used to convey the general idea of the project. It can also help us get a feel for the looks and the aesthetics of the project.
In this case, there will be 6 different mood boards. In creating individual mood boards for the project. I will gain a good insight into the inspiration for each individual design. I started off by looking at each participant’s mind maps. From there I could see the key elements of the designs that needed to be included, for example, “delicate floral designs”. This helped me complete the visual research for the mood board.
Once that was created, I could easily create the foundation for each mood board. I compiled each mood board with some visual references of similar tattoo designs and styles that would fit the specifications of each participant.
I repeated this for each participant, so I ended up with a mood board for each participant. I feel like in doing this it will be of great benefit moving forward with this project.
For next week I will be creating some tattoo designs for each participant using the mood boards. These concepts will then be sent to the participants to get their feedback on them. From there I will be able to work on the revisions for the designs.
