My original concept for the exhibition was to display tattoos on mannequins and have the book of women's stories as the center piece with posters on the walls behind. As shown In the image below. But after contacting many organisations, charities and support groups, I have not received a realistic amount of participants to create a full book. This was mostly down to the sensitivity of the book and the confidentiality rules set by these organisations.


With the sudden closure of colleges and schools across the country I did not have time to arrange bringing my mannequins home to work on so I began to think about alternatives. I though about focusing the book on tattoo designs and their symbolism and meanings and telling the stories of the women on the mannequins using typography which would reflect the emotions of the stories.



To display in the center I was considering casting a bust in resin and encapsulating flowers along side a vinyl of the tattoo. It would look like glass and could reflect light. For example;




For the posters I considered mounting my mannequins to canvas and printing their designs onto them for example;
